some tips for the preparation of your navigation

Meteo & notams

Olivia is a website proposed by the DGAC (Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile). It provides an on-line support for meteorological information, notams and flight plan.

Meteorological information is provided to Olivia by Meteo France. You need the same personnal code than for all Meteo France services such as Aeroweb. This code can be obtained free of charge.

Note : French and english versions...

Official documentation : VAC, AIC, SUP AIP, ...

Many official documents are available, on-line and free of charge, on the SIA's website (Service de l'Information Aéronautique). You can find the VAC charts, but also many other items dealing with regulations.

Note : French and english versions...

FPL

Dealing with Flight Plans, a specialized phone number is useful to know : < 0810 437 837 > (0810 IFR VFR). It runs H24 on France territory and allows to file and to close flight plans.

Other useful (but "non-official") websites

Navigeo allows to obtain easily information about a specific airfield: VAC charts, NOTAMs, etc.

carte.f-aero provides quite the same information as well as the OACI 1:500.000 IGN chart...

Fly-in-France is a website dedicated to pilots who need information for the preparation of their first flights in France. Among the numerous topics, you will find information dealing with Radio communications.

Francoflyers gives also useful information for English-speaking flyers in France.
